Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

YTAdskip makes the “Video Ad Block Youtube” Chrome extension and runs the service behind it at ytadskip.com. This policy explains what information the extension and service collect and how we handle it.

2. What we collect

With your permission, the extension records the web addresses of the pages you visit, how you reached them and when, together with a random identifier for your installation. It does not read your passwords, what you type into forms, your cookies, or the content of pages, although personal information that appears in a web address can still be included.

When the extension contacts our service, we also receive your IP address, basic browser information and an approximate location based on the IP address. If you email us, we receive your email address and your message.

3. Your choice

Analytics is optional. The first time you open the extension popup it asks whether we may collect analytics. Nothing is collected until you choose, and nothing is collected if you choose Disagree. You can change your answer at any time from the popup footer. Ad blocking works the same either way.

Installations from before this choice was introduced are treated as having accepted, and can change that in the popup at any time. Disabling or removing the extension stops all collection.

4. How we use it

We use analytics to understand how the extension is used and to improve it. We use technical information to run and protect the service. We use your email only to reply to you.

5. Sharing

We never sell your data. We may share analytics with third-party analytics providers for the same purposes. This can include the browsing records themselves, not only totals. Companies that host our service, look up locations from IP addresses, or deliver email also process the information needed to do that.

6. Keeping and deleting it

Analytics data is kept until you ask us to delete it. To request deletion, email [email protected]. We may need a few details to find the records for your installation; please do not send passwords or your browsing history.

Removing the extension stops future collection but does not delete data we have already received. Contact us if you want that deleted too.

7. Security

The extension talks to our service over an encrypted connection, and access to the service is protected. No method of storing or sending information can guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

The extension does not ask for your age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided information through YTAdskip, email [email protected] and we will help.

9. Google policies

The Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, sets rules for how Chrome extensions collect, use and share user data.

10. Changes

When our practices change we will update this page and the date at the top. Where platform rules require notice or consent before a change, we will ask first.
